The site uses the honour system and relies on self-declaration of Ktunaxanin̓tik, ⱡak̓ⱡak ʔaqⱡsmaknik and the general public.

This is to protect the privacy of site participants, and to maintain confidentiality of Ktunaxa-only projects.

Some terms:

Ktunaxanin̓tik (Ktunaxa Citizen) 
is someone whose Ktunaxa roots are recognized, either through extended Ktunaxa family or Ktunaxa Community or through genealogy, and who can provide substantive evidence of their Ktunaxa lineage, adoption or genealogy. 

ⱡak̓ⱡak ʔaqⱡsmaknik̓ (Other Ktunaxa Citizen) 
is someone who is

(a) a non-Ktunaxa Spouse of a Ktunaxanin̓tik (Ktunaxa Citizen); or

(b) a non-Ktunaxa step-child of a Ktunaxanin̓tik; or

(c) ineligible for Ktunaxa citizenship but who has been living as a member of a Ktunaxa Community for an extended period of time.
