Call for Submissions: Our Land. Our Words. Our Stories. Magazine Project!

You may have heard about the "Our Land. Our Words. Our Stories" Ktunaxa Traditional Knowledge and Language magazine project currently in production with publishing expected in Spring/Summer 2023.

The vision of the project is to create a legacy magazine-style publication to celebrate Ktunaxa people, stories and communities.

The audience for the publication is Ktunaxa Nation members, as well as Ktunaxa territory residents including the general public and visitors to the area.

Distribution will include Ktunaxa Nation community facilities such as Band offices, health and recreation centres, and direct to citizens. As well as Parks facilities and visitor centres, libraries, and bookstores.

Ktunaxa contributors are essential to the success of the publication, ensuring the publication is by and for community members and is comprised of the community voice.

We are looking for Ktunaxa writers and contributors to create articles, editorials and other content in their areas of expertise to tell the stories of Ktunaxa ʔamakʔis.

There is an honorarium available for contributors and staff support to work with you on your article. Its also an opportunity to have your work, words or images published!

We are hoping to have draft content by the middle of January and final content at the end of the month.

We would love to work with you on your content, please reach out with story ideas or questions!
