Yoho and Kootenay National Park Site Visit

April 7 and 8, 2022

Parks Canada approached Ktunaxa and Secwepemc communities in early 2021 to participate in the development of an Aquatic Stewardship Plan to help set operational goals and restoration priorities specific to aquatics in the parks.

The technical working group has provided an initial list of values and important concepts from an Indigenous perspective, and we are now requesting information from citizens/communities on what is important to you when it comes to the aquatic health of Yoho/Kootenay Parks.

On April 7 and 8, please join us on a site visit to both Kootenay and Yoho National Parks to help us capture what is important to you when it comes to aquatic health.

We will be chartering a tour bus to bring us to sites in both parks, overnight in Radium Hot Springs, and return back to the Ktunaxa Nation Government Building in Cranbrook by late afternoon of the second day.

Meals, accommodation and travel will be reimbursed.

Places are limited, so please reach out to register if you are interested.

Please contact Caitlin Phillips at caitlin.phillips@ktunaxa.org to sign up or for more information.
